Lessons of the Sixties
A History of Local Washington, DC Activism for Peace and Justice from 1960-1975
Participate in this important work.
Your materials, memories, ideas, financial assistance and direct help will make
this project a success.
What you can do. We would love to include more personal written recollections. If you have something, or have been meaning to sit down and write something, now is a good time. We don't want book-length pieces, but otherwise we are flexible. If you have suggestions for 1960s-1970s local activists you think we should interview, please pass on their names and contact information to us. Also, if you know of someone who played a role during this period but is no longer with us, and you can point us to an obituary/remembrance that we can include, please send us materials or links. And if you have materials (see the About Us page for more on what we're looking for) that you've been storing for the past several decades, now would be a good time to get them organized and think about donating them to the project.
